What is a TMOG?
The Tax Management Office has released several Guideline documents (TMOGs) on important tax topics. Please review relevant documents at the link below.
In particular, please read #7 on Constructive Receipt. It provides clear University examples to demonstrate constructive receipt. It also gives relatively simple alternatives to achieve your goals without violating U.S. tax law by failing to correctly report taxable income paid to University employees. This is an important topic, so please review TMOG #7 and make alterations to your practices and templates as necessary. DJP
