Late Reimbursements

There is an important change to the processing of late travel reimbursement requests.

Per existing University policy, all travel reimbursement requests are to be submitted within 30 days or they are considered late.  Approvers have the right to deny late reimbursement requests, but, in practice, lateness alone has rarely impacted reimbursements in the past.

As was discussed at an Administrator meeting, IRS tax regulations require reimbursement
requests to be submitted in a timely manner to avoid being subject to
income tax.  The University is working
on revising its policy to clarify this, but, in the interim, travel reimbursements more than six months late should be sent to Jay Delaney.  DJP
