Change to annual ISO processes
At the 9/16 RRC meeting, a welcome change to the annual ISO processes was announced. There no longer will be a call for information in the budget instructions each winter. Instead, the Budget Office will review ISO financial information (deficits, subsidies, plant funds) using standard reports and raise questions with colleges.
The ISO office review processes also have changed to a risk-based approach to oversight that will result in less frequent reviews for many ISOs. Along with the Budget Office and ISO office changes is an expectation that colleges take a more active role in ISO oversight. We will have a college discussion about what that might mean with ISO administrators later this fall.
