EFS System Performance

A project is underway to analyze EFS performance.
Central and user groups have teamed up to assess EFS system performance.  Below, I repeat the communication I received on this.  If you are asked, please participate in this important project.  DJP

A review of user frustrations with EFS indicated that system performance
continues to be a challenge.  Over the last several months, user
committees have worked with central units to specify the most pressing
performance issues.  Anecdotal information revealed the most problematic
areas.  The next step toward improving system performance is a
comprehensive effort to measure performance in problem areas, so
specific issues can be isolated and addressed.  Users will be asked to
log their actual experiences in the system via a website.  High-volume
users have been identified and will be asked to participate.

Identified participants within your RRC will be contacted to participate
on Monday, April 30, 2012.  Participants should reply by Thursday, May
3, 2012.  We want the entire user community to be aware of this project
and request that you allow and encourage your staff to participate in
this important effort.  The importance of participation will benefit
users and help to create system changes and efficiencies.  Those who
have been identified as high-volume users should email finsys@umn.edu to notify central of their participation.
